Trust the Process is a slogan used by fans of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, though it has become popular elsewhere in sports and culture. Coined during a rough patch for the team, it means "things may look bad now, but we have a plan in place to make it better."
After this Slogan became popular, we had to associate it we our everyday life for it to give us hope and faith that everything will come out just fine. Spiritually this means letting go and having faith that things will eventually work out in their own time.
It is so easy to obsess over the results of something happening in our lives, whether it's a career, relationship, or something else entirely. We tend to do the opposite of trusting "the process" and go frantic about the things that aren't happening, especially when things don't go the way we expect. However, this ends badly for us. In most cases when we rely on ourselves.
Trusting the process for instance means, trusting the process in your current situation that while you aren't exactly where you imagined being, you're working your way to getting there.
When you trust the process at the right time you get where you intend to be without pressuring yourself.
It can take you to places you never imagined and it all comes down to faith, trust, and patience.
Why It is important to trust the process?
You are less likely to hurt yourself;
It's so easy to break your own heart when you stress over your own life. Trusting the process means that you value yourself enough to not stress yourself out. You know there is no use in stressing over something you have no control over, therefore you better let it all go, and trust od to work it out for our best interest.
As I mentioned earlier, this process takes a great deal of patience, if you plan to do it right. When you trust the process you build your character and attitude and let things be. By believing that things will eventually work out, you are also building discipline.
You become open to change;
While no one likes the idea of change starting with me, it's the one thing in our lives that we can't avoid entirely.
Change is consistent, no matter where we go. When you trust the process, you learn to adapt to the changes that happen.
It will lead to your purpose;
This whole thing is all about being led to your purpose.
Everyone is made/ created for a purpose and this is why it is important to have faith and just trust that you'll get there in the fullness of time.
It may seem cliche, and it's another topic for another time, but what's meant for you will find a way in your life.
It helps you practice gratitude;
Life is filled with enough anxiety that there's no reason to add to that by worrying even more.
By letting go, you learn to be grateful for what you already have and take it from there. You learn contentment and bliss even when you're not yet where you want.
You grow through everything;
No matter what things you encounter in your life, you have grown through even the most painful circumstances.
You realize that timing is everything;
The things that are meant to be will be yours ultimately, but it's a matter of timing. This is also why pain occurs-so after growing through the lessons we've learned, only then can we be at a place where we're ready for our purpose.
HOW TO TRUST THE PROCESS;
As humans, we are naturally fragile, anxious, and impatient which makes trusting the process even more challenging. However, this doesn't mean we shouldn't.
To trust the process, you should let go of every need you have to control each and everything.
Let go of the need to know the answers to all your questions, such as if you'll attain success or if you'll get to that place, or however it looks for you.
Trusting that everything will work it's a way in your life indicating that if something you're meant to have, you get it, and if not, it's still OKAY.
Life works in unexpected ways than what we can get to realize. To have faith that all will by and by work out, you must not rush the timing of things. THERE IS TIME FOR ALL THINGS. Knowing this leaves room to ASK YOURSELF THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. Oftentimes, we want it now and we can't wait any second longer, which is the wrong mindset to have.
We need to develop a mindset that's full of patience and discipline as that's what trusting the process is all about. Even in the things unknown, even when things don't make sense, TRUST THE LORD.
And the Bible talks about it again and again in different scriptures that we should trust the process.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”Proverbs3:5-6
I have read more than five scriptures in the Bible that emphasize why we should trust the process.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. This one right here is my favorite I love it so much that I have it tattoed on my heart and back to not forget...Psalm 37:4 GIVE IT ALL TO THE LORD:)
Our soul waits for the Lord, he is our help and our shield. Psalm33:20
Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act. Psalms 37:5
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust, and will be not afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2
You put him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Proverbs 29:25
Final Thoughts.
I hope my writing was able to shed a light on anything in the context that might happen in your space right now. While difficult, it is one of the most life-changing things you can do in your life. No matter how much you try, you can never control the outcome of your life.
I chose to write about this topic because I've been going through a compacted trail in my life, it helps me to share my thoughts and research in hopes that I can encourage someone else who might be struggling.
FYI; I hope this article finds you well wherever you are and whatever you are doing. If you are going through a lot right now, trust the process and keep pushing, keep yourself in your purpose, and one day those trust the Process is a slogan used by fans of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, though it has become popular elsewhere in sports and culture.
